In 1986, a young lady upon graduating from an Islamic Institute in Saudi Arabia returned to her homeland Kenya, with a strong desire to impart Islamic knowledge to young women.
Inspired by his daughter’s intentions, the late brother Abdulmajid Khwaja (may Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala bless him) initiated this Institution in 1987 by renting a small house in Juja Road which served as a hostel and a training centre for girls offering a 2 year course, teaching students the Islamic principles and home economic skills.
Through tremendous support, affection and duas from brothers and sisters, in 1988 a bigger and more appropriate property of half an acre was acquired on Bujumbura road Pangani shopping centre consisting of two houses of which one was converted into a hostel and another a classroom block with a temporary structure consisting of a muswallah and three classrooms. In 1989 the first lot graduated and became teachers. The course was updated to 3 years after the third batch.
